SONiC invites innovators to join the annual SONiC Hackathon! This fully virtual event brings together developers and community members to showcase ideas and implementations with SONiC.

Submission Topics:
- Network for AI
- AI agents for networking
- AI + debugging & root causing test failures, analyzing test logs
- Developer experience improvements: builds, CI/CD
- System & software security
- Test reliability
- CLI/config/tracking improvements
- New feature enablement
- Other topics are welcome
Timeline:
- September 15: Team formation submission deadline (project abstract due at submission)
- September 19: Judges selected
- September 29 (9:00 AM PST – October 1 (11:00 PM PST): Hackathon participation dates
- October 1 (11:00 PM – 1:00 AM AOE): Presentation upload period
- October 6 (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM PT): Live Presentations
Each team: 4-minute presentation + 2-minute Q&A
Break: 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Attendees & Judges: Present on Zoom Throughout
- October 8 (8:00 PM PT): Judge Deliberation Deadline
- October 13: Winners Finalized
- October 16: Results announced at OCP Global Summit SONiC Workshop
Logistics:
- Demo and presentation will be uploaded to a shared online location
- Hackathon presentation: 5 minutes to present your idea, your results/demo, and next steps
- A team may include a maximum of five participants.
- No more than 3 teams from one participating organization
