DESCRIPTION:Full Hackathon Program: September 28–October 14\, 2026\nProject Development Period: September 28–October 1\, 2026\nLocation: Online\n\nThe SONiC Foundation invites developers\, researchers\, students\, and other innovators to participate in the annual SONiC Hackathon. This virtual community event is an opportunity to develop and showcase new ideas\, tools\, and implementations that advance SONiC and open networking. \nTeams will build their projects during the virtual hackathon\, then upload a demonstration and presentation for review. Finalists will present their work live to the judges\, and the winners will be announced during the SONiC Workshop at the 2026 OCP Global Summit. \nSubmit Your Team\nThe team formation submission deadline is September 15\, 2026\, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. A brief project abstract is required when submitting. \nSubmit your team >> \nSuggested Project Topics\nSubmissions may address topics including: \n\nNetworks for AI\nAI agents for networking\nAI-assisted debugging\, root-cause analysis\, and test-log analysis\nDeveloper experience improvements\, including builds and CI/CD\nSystem and software security\nTest reliability\nCLI\, configuration\, and tracking improvements\nNew feature enablement\nOther ideas that benefit SONiC and the open networking community\n\nParticipation Guidelines\n\nThe hackathon will be held virtually.\nEach team may include up to five participants.\nEach participating organization may enter no more than three teams.\nTeams will upload a project demonstration and presentation to a shared online location.\nThis is a vendor-neutral community event.
